Our GetSetUp Guides come from all walks of life.They share their skills, offer services, and support others helping people continue learning, contributing, and staying connected. In an ageing society, their role is more important than ever. Together, they are powering a new longevity economy where experience becomes opportunity, and everyone has a role to play.

Sarah Chen
Sarah Chen is an experienced educator with over five years of helping learners build confidence in everyday skills that support healthy, independent living. She specializes in topics like nutrition, wellness, and caregiving, breaking them down into simple, practical steps that are easy to apply. Sarah is passionate about empowering older adults to take charge of their health, stay active, and care for themselves and their loved ones with confidence.

Rodney Cheng
Rodney is a passionate advocate for helping older adults embrace technology. With a distinguished career spanning science, engineering, and leadership across Asia, he brings both depth and clarity to the way he guides others. Now in retirement, Rodney actively volunteers with Fei Yue helping seniors access digital tools and services in practical ways . Most recently, through the Good Stories project with Fei Yue, Rodney helped his peers use AI to document their life stories in printed legacy books.

Ava Ashokan
Ava is an artist. Sally is her grandma—and her inspiration. Ava believes creativity brings people together. She loves helping others use simple drawing to reflect on life, share meaningful memories and build new friendships. In this special intergenerational class, Ava co-hosts with her grandmother, Sally, to create a warm and welcoming space where participants can tell their life stories through art. No drawing experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and your memories.

Twyla Teitzel
Twyla loves sharing her passions in life such as the joys of a plant based lifestyle, yoga, fitness, vegan baking, brain health, dancing, houseplants, fashion over 65 and more! She loves learning new things (she just started taking Pickleball lessons.) She wants to help others enjoy a vibrant, healthy active life as they age. Her background is in event planning and teaching. She has been a yoga teacher for 23 years. She has two wonderful daughters and an amazing grandson. Twyla and her daughters live by the motto, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!"

Evelyn Chong
Evelyn believes that learning is one of life's greatest joys, no matter our age. Throughout her career, she has brought people together through education, community programmes, and meaningful connections. She is passionate about helping older adults stay active, curious, and socially connected. For most of her career, Evelyn has led student and alumni engagement at local university, creating opportunities for people to learn from one another and build lasting friendships. Today, she continues her work with the **Drums-Up for Active Ageing** initiative, using music and movement to help seniors improve their physical wellbeing, mental alertness, and social connection. Evelyn enjoys a wide range of creative hobbies including jewellery making, crochet, origami, embroidery, and other handicrafts. She also loves journaling and reminiscence activities, helping people capture their life stories and preserve precious memories for future generations. On GetSetUp, she hopes to create warm & welcoming classes where seniors can learn new skills, express their creativity, make some friends, and most importantly discover that it's never too late to try something new.

Tan Tung Ling Judith
Judith Tan is an 82-year-old active senior who believes that staying healthy and helping others are the keys to ageing well. A retired Special Needs teacher and dedicated Scout leader, she has spent her life serving her community. Today, she continues that passion by leading exercise classes for fellow seniors, inspiring them to stay active, eat well and build friendships.

Faiyaaz
Faiyaaz has spent more than 30 years helping people learn, grow, and build confidence in new skills. Throughout his career, he has designed and led training programmes across community care, financial services, and international organisations, always believing that learning should be practical, engaging, and enjoyable. He has worked with job seekers, professionals, and community groups, helping people gain new skills, navigate career changes, and discover their potential. Whether he's teaching in a classroom or online, Faiyaaz enjoys making complex topics simple and creating a supportive space where everyone feels comfortable asking questions. On GetSetUp, Faiyaaz looks forward to learning alongside fellow seniors, sharing practical knowledge, and helping others build the confidence to embrace new opportunities—one step at a time.

Megan F.
Megan is the Instructional Content Manager at GetSetUp, where she has been creating engaging learning experiences for the past five years. Throughout her time at GetSetUp, she has held several roles across the platform, supporting programs, Guides, content development, and learner experiences. Before joining GetSetUp, she worked as a summer camp counselor, behavior technician supporting children with autism, and kindergarten and transitional kindergarten teacher. Outside of work, Megan enjoys crafting, baking sourdough bread, spending time with her dogs, and everything Disney.

Bhavani Swaminathan
Bhavani Swaminathan helps people achieve their long-term goals of leading a healthy lifestyle, weight loss, building immunity, etc. by preparing, monitoring, and modifying diet charts and providing personal exercises depending on the individual's body composition (also known as Prakriti). She is a Life Member of the Indian Dietetic Association and has completed her Master of Science in Food and Nutrition, as well as Master of Philosophy from the University of Mumbai, and Ph.D. in Alternative Medicine from Florida University, USA.

Anita
Anita is an English Literature graduate and has done a short stint in hotels as a graduate trainee. She started her career as a Merchandiser in Garment Exports, moving on to managing Leisure Clubs and then on to Facility Management / Admin. Anita also founded a voluntary service that helps contribute goods to the underprivileged and she works with a local Good Samaritan Helpline in counseling people. Her interest in poetry and the depth of the English language, drew her into teaching English online to students from around the world. Travelling figures on top of the list in her passions, followed by reading and theatre. Anita’s current and new found interest is theology, which she is pursuing and hopes to complete in the near future.

Tass Tan
Caring for our wellbeing does not have to be complicated. It begins with the small choices we make every day. After more than 20 years supporting individuals and caregivers in the mental health field, Tass has seen how small, intentional acts of self-care can make a meaningful difference as people navigate life's ups and downs. Many of the practices she shares with others have also become an important part of her own wellbeing journey. Professionally trained in Social Work, Psychology, and Counselling, Tass is passionate about translating evidence-based wellbeing knowledge into simple, practical strategies that help people better understand themselves, build resilience, and care for their wellbeing with confidence. She enjoys finding joy in life's ordinary moments, whether over a good cup of coffee, through quiet reflection, or simply by appreciating life's little blessings. She believes that caring for ourselves begins with intentional choices, such as slowing down, connecting with others, and taking one small step at a time. Whether you are curious about managing stress, building resilience, improving sleep and memory, or simply exploring new ways to support your wellbeing, Tass warmly welcomes you to join her for meaningful conversations and discover practical, evidence-based self-care strategies that you can confidently apply in everyday life.

Binda Kanayalkar
Binda Kanayalkar is an HR professional and a Facilitative Trainer. Having worked for over 3 decades incorporate, she is now into Wellness Coaching and a passionate Yoga practitioner. She chose to take early retirement to pursue her passion for working closely with Institutions that are driven by strong processes and organizational ethics and relate to people Development, Welfare, Wellness, Safety, Health & Environment. Binda is an NLP practitioner and a certified Mentor. Binda enjoys teaching, traveling, cooking, and does painting and handicrafts in her free time. She calls herself a learner forever.

Judy Stelling
Judy is passionate about life-long learning, using technology to improve people’s lives, and eliminating ageism. That's why she's excited about her role at GetSetUp leading the mission to enhance economic opportunities for older adults. Helping those 55+ prepare, upskill/reskill, find and secure one of today's jobs is important for society and Judy loves being part of GetSetUp's drive to do this. Focusing on work is a natural thing for Judy as work has been part of her life since she got her work permit at fourteen to help at a local florist shop. Since then, she's worn a variety of hats including tutor, systems engineer, software developer, entrepreneur, marketer, product director, and more. A wife, mother, and grandmother of seven, Judy is a master cookie baker, wannabe painter, beach lover, and weekend flea market junkie.

Deana Neibert
Deana Neibert believes that everyone has natural creative ability and that art can enrich life at any age. While creativity can sometimes take a backseat over time, art offers a way to see, feel, and connect more deeply with the world. Through her teaching, she helps learners rediscover their imagination, explore new ideas, and enjoy the calming and joyful benefits of artistic expression. As a professional artist and experienced art teacher, Deana is passionate about creating meaningful art experiences that add value to her students’ lives. She is thrilled to be part of the GetSetUp community.

Lim Siew Yean
Siew Yean loves sharing her passion on staying fit, healthy and how to care for seniors. She is a lifelong learner who consistently attend courses to upgrade her knowledge on health and fitness; some courses such as Nutrition for Weight Management from Singapore Management University, Health Coaching, Dementia Caregiving and Fundamental of TCM etc. She likes to share her knowledge gained based on her personal experiences to help people stay healthy and fit to lead an active aging life.

Sereena Joy Osman
Miss Sereena J Osman is a recent retiree of a Singapore government statutory board. Over the years, she has taken part in martial arts, qi gong and tai chi to keep herself fit. She currently volunteers at LionBefrienders. Some of her roles include befriending seniors in her neighbourhood, conducting surveys and outreach programs. In her spare time, you can find her pottering around and trying to fend off pesky aphids and the like from devouring her precious herbs she grows for sharing with family, friends and neighbours. She is available for chats on physical exercises especially martial arts, qi gong and tai chi.

TAN KOK LIANG, TAKALAH
Takalah Tan is a brain injury survivor, resilience advocate and motivational speaker who has turned extraordinary adversity into a life of purpose. A former Commando officer, triathlete and NUS engineering graduate, his life changed at 24 when a near-fatal motorcycle accident left him with severe traumatic brain injury and permanent amnesia. Takalah rebuilt his life and went on to serve as President of the Brain Injury Society Singapore and worked at Tzu Chi’s Senior Engagement & Enabling Node supporting vulnerable seniors. In 2024, he received the Singapore Silent Heroes’ Heart of Humanity Award for his advocacy and inspiring life journey. Takalah doesn’t just speak about resilience — he has spent more than 30 years living it.

Ashokan Ramakrishnan
Ash helps active seniors build confidence with technology to live their golden years more fully. As Chief Marketing Officer at iWOW Technology, he brings hands-on experience developing AgeTech solutions for ageing in place. He believe in making technology simple and practical—from staying connected with family to managing daily routines.
